Knight Center for International Media Executive Director Sanjeev Chatterjee and School of Communication Dean Sam L Grogg traveled to Beijing last week, through an invitation to visit the prestigious Tsinghua University, considered one of China’s most renowned universities.

On Oct. 9, Grogg and Chatterjee presented a multi-media lecture and discussion on “Communication in the Connected World” to an audience of advanced graduate students and faculty of Tsinghua University’s School of Communication.

“I look forward to developing a relationship with Tsinghua University that will lead to collaborative cross-border projects in keeping with the mission of the Knight Center for International Media,” said Chatterjee.

Dean Li Xiguang of Tsinghua’s School of Communication also welcomed Grogg and Chatterjee at a special Salon on Communication that hosts distinguished scholars and communication professionals from around the world.

Dean Grogg said collaborating with the School of Communication at Tsinghua University is a key component of the global strategic goals at the University of Miami. “The prospect of student and faculty exchange, collaborative research and other projects will greatly enhance the learning experience at both of our institutions,” he said.
